Join the fun at Barktober Downtown Dog Walk. The first 50 dogs will receive a doggie goody bag. Registration from 1-2 pm. Walk starts at 2 pm with contest and prizes following the walk.

Contests: Best Dressed, Dog/Owner Look-a-Like, Doggie Congeniality, Most Beautiful Dog, Happiest Dog, & Top Dog!

Join us for the HAUNTED TRAIL HIKE at Altherr Nature Park on Saturday, October 10th. First Hike Starts at 6pm, the Last Hike Out is at 9:15pm.

Our special guides will lead you along the dark and scary haunted Trail. Hike leaves every 10-15 minutes. Enter at your own risk. The Haunted Trail may not be appropriate for young children.

Ghost Stories will be in the Amphitheater starting at 5pm. Ghost Stories is for all ages. There will also be food available for purchase and you can roast your s'mores around the campfire.

Join S.O.M.A. before the Monticello Lighted Christmas Parade for Carols, Cocoa, & Cookies. Join in the Christmas spirit and sing along to carols in the gazebo. Get hot cocoa and cookies for a free will donation.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Monticello and the Streets of Monticello Association (S.O.M.A.), this sparkling holiday tradition brings together businesses, clubs, organizations, and thousands of cheerful spectators for a magical night downtown.

Parade Route: The parade kicks off at Ohio & Third Street, travels east on Ohio, turns north on Main Street, and wraps up at Foster Street.

Prizes & Bragging Rights:

Judging will take place before the parade starts. Winners will be announced during the parade and receive their award in front of the Judges’ Stand.! Awards will go to the Top 7 entries, including 1st, 2nd & 3rd place plus: Spectacular Sparkles, Most Creative, Mayor’s Choice, Judges’ Choice
